The Power of Pausing

2016 has been one of the roughest years of my life. I’ve endured the loss of a brother, surgery, empty nest, husband lost his job, business growth, etc. There is no way I can share it all with you in this post, but I will share this…

In July, at my lowest point, I called my Coach and shared with her about my brother and upcoming surgery. I told her that I had to reschedule all of my business meetings and I was overwhelmed. After offering her condolences she said, “Don’t become the single point of failure for your business.” She encouraged me to use the down time to “build sustainability” into my business. So I paused and began to think on the advice given. I sent out surveys to see what my audience needed most. I stayed on the couch and reviewed my life, my business and my vision. It was during the hardest point in my that I launched an online program called The Inner Circle Network. I also secured my first corporate leadership training contract. At a time when it seemed my life was falling down  all around me, I also made the most progress because I slowed down and paused.

During this holiday season, I challenge you to pause and reflect. Great things are birthed when we sit still. It’s in that silence where we find solutions.

Above is a picture of me speaking at the 2016 Mother’s of Virtue Retreat at Evergreen Resort and teaching on the power of pausing .
