Babysat Saints verses Empowered Saints

I have learned that I can preach truth until I am blue in the face, but until the receiver allows it to come alive in their heart change will not come.  For example: If they needed a job, you  could take them to get the job but they will quit.  If they needed food and you meet them at the store to buy grocery every time…. you may find out they sold their food stamps.  They may need a ride and you pick them up only to find out they have a car but wanted to save their gas…..

I encourage the leaders to shift your mindset from babysitting the saints to empowering the saints:

Babysat saints are always on milk but Empowered Saints are taught to feed themselves.

Babysat Saints are taught dependence on the Leader. Empowered Saints know how to study and seek God for themselves.

Babysat Saints complain when they don’t get their way. Empowered saints fast and pray like Daniel when the answer doesn’t come.

Babysat Saints are competitive and compete for the attention of the Leader.  Empowered saints understand that God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and know that their needs won’t deplete His supply.

Babysat Saints feel left out when someone else is blessed. Empowered Saints rejoice with their sisters and brothers because they understand that God has no respecter of persons.

Leaders, shift your thinking and begin to coach, teach, train, inspire and empower!
