Outreach and Evangelism

Outreach is providing a service and satisfying a need.  Evangelism is spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ by preaching or personal witness.  Both of these are necessary but they are different.  Our communities are suffering because of lack of outreach.  We are having more church services and not enough outreach.  We have more and more revivals and recycling church folk but the homeless are still homeless and the hungry and still hungry and the lost are still lost…..

When the Body of Christ remembers that we are to be the hands and feet of Christ on this earth we can truly make a difference.  Will the sleeping church wake up and begin to take care of our communities and truly make a difference?  If we would love the people, feed the people, clothe the people, serve the people, be friendly to the people….then they will ask about the hope that we have.  Then they may want the Savior that we serve.

Why is the world dying but yet refuse our Savior?  Could it be because we have become an introverted people and forgotten our true calling and purpose and that is to be a servant….
